Today's Matchup - April 10, 2011

Ubaldo Jimenez threw a side session in the bullpen today and will fly to Scottsdale today. He will throw some innings in an extended spring training game on Wednesday. If all goes well there, he will be activated on the 17th, and should pitch on either the 18th or the 19th against the San Francisco Giants.

Todd Helton woke up this morning with his back feeling fine, though he is out of the lineup today to give it one more day of rest. Jason Giambi will take over for him at first, but Helton should return for tomorrow's series opener against the Mets.

Carlos Gonzalez is the latest victim of the flu bug that's been making it's way around the Rockies' clubhouse, and will not start today. Instead, utility-man and last night's hero Ty Wigginton will start in left field for Gonzalez.

Jhoulys Chacin (1-0, 0.00 ERA) vs. James McDonald (0-0, 3.86 ERA)
