Troy Tulowitzki and Todd Helton each hit a home run, driving in three combined runs in the 7-5 victory.
The Rockies worked the count against Dodgers pitcher Chad Billingsley, chasing him in the 4th inning. Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez each had two hits for the Rockies, and starter Jason Hammel recovered from a touch-and-go 2nd and 3rd innings to throw 5 strong innings, allowing 6 hits and 4 runs.
Colorado now sits alone on top of the NL West, a half-game above the San Diego Padres.
The Rockies are on their way to Pittsburgh tonight to take on the Pirates in their home opener tomorrow. Esmil Rogers will pitch for the Rockies, while Paul Maholm will take the ball for the Bucs. First pitch is set for 11:35 am tomorrow.
