Manny Ramirez, known for his childish antics and questionable off-the-field behavior, has alerted Major League Baseball of his intent to retire.
He was facing yet another allegation of steroid abuse.
Ramirez was entering his 19th season in the big leagues, this year as a designated hitter with the Tampa Bay Rays. He was hitting .059 with zero home runs and one RBI.
